Today I went to the stables, cos I was oddly depressed for reasons that eludes me. And I saw this cute little foal. I'm not sure if it's a colt or a filly, but it looked adorable, as most little animals are. It stood, forelegs slightly splayed out, to get better access to the little pile of grass below. Long, gangly legs, typical traits of foals. I leaned against the wooden fence and stared at it for quite some time. Not really thinking about anything. Just staring. Observing.

Something my CT said one day really struck me. I'm 17 this year. Time had flown by so quickly. It seemed just yesterday that I was patrolling in the hall for my Prefect duties in P5. And now, here I am, in a Junior College, with my Promotional Exams just a scant two months away. In a few more years, I'd be an adult.

All our lives, we've mostly been dictated by our parents or guardians. But when you move into adulthood, your life falls completely into your own hands. Are you ready to take on that amount of responsibility? Are you ready to make your own decisions? Are you ready to take full charge of your life?

For the first time in the 17 years and 4 days of my life, yours truly was late for school. I woke up at 7.40am. Took 5 minutes to brush my teeth, don my uniform, grab my bag, a comb, wear my shoes and rush out of the house. I reached school at 7.50am. And of course, was late. Morning assembly was over, everyone had gone to class and I still had to go to the General Office to sign the Late Form. Geez. Which just made me even more late for Bio tutorial.

Today during MTOP, we organized a Math Trail for the P5 kids to play. For the first time, I had to go over to Park View Primary to fetch those kids over to MJ. It was... an unforgettable experience. I shall not dwell on it. But my mentee was so sweet. He saw me and went "Hi Jie Jie Valerie!" Haha! So cool to be called a jie jie man! Then I smiled and greeted him back in return. Then he gave me candy. Hahaha. How sweet.

Anyway, the Math Trail took a really long time. And I was late for the group date to Esplanade. By the time I got to City Hall, Marc, Talz and Kenneth were already at MPH. Lol. So then we went to Marina Square Food Loft for dinner along with Chuan, who came later. Chamberesque is going big! Woo hoo! =D

We then went to Esplanade Library to immerse ourselves in music and scores, and in Kenneth's case, his Econs notes. Hahaha. Man, I tell you, the ambience was sooo damn friggin' nice. I was totally intoxicated. Soft, romantic ambience. Lush comfy sofas. Cool, chilly air-con. And overlooking the Waterfront and Singapore River. I was simply drowning and immersed in it all. Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. The play of the city lights on the gentle ripples on the waters. The soft twinkle of the stars set against the inky blackness of the night sky. Goodness... such is the epitome of enjoyment in life.

After we feasted our eyes and minds sufficiently with the scores and etc. We walked over to One Fullerton and sat down beside the Merlion and ate cookies while we chatted and laughed about our lives. Marc complained of a diarrhoea and when he didn't return after a gazillion years, Talz went off to search for him. Then, haha, I continued chatting with Kenneth and Chuan. And all of a sudden! "Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you!" Haha, Talz and Marc appeared with a lovely chocolate cake balanced on top of the flattened Breadtalk box, modified into a tray. And it's tiramisu!! Oh my Goodness! Then I made my birthday wish, cut the cake, distributed it and we all sat down to enjoy tiramisu cake. Goodness goodness goodness. I am SOOO friggin' HAPPY! I haven't been this happy since... what, months and months ago! My gosh! Perfect setting, romantic ambience, lovely company and my favourite spot in Singapore to boot. I was so happy I wanted to dance on the streets! Gosh.

Guys, thank you sooo much! Thanks for the gifts! Thanks for the cake! Thanks for the thought and sincerity! And thanks for being my friends!

What a horrid, horrid week! Minus my birthday (even though it was still horrid cos of the stupid chem test) I'm absolutely crumbling into pieces. I'm so tired. I felt so sick last night I fell asleep while studying bio, specs still on, lectures notes and worksheets strewn all over my bed and all. Ugh. And I woke up late this morning. Thank goodness I live near the school.

Yesterday, we had our A' level Listening Comprehension exam. I had just finished my lunch and was heading to the exam venue when I saw a bunch of invigilators walk into the school. And then I saw... Mr Kevin Ng!! My CT from first three months! I was sooo overjoyed I shouted his name and waved madly like some lunatic with this moronic grin spreading across my face. He saw me, smiled and waved back, wished me good luck for the exams. Oh, and I saw Ms Leow too. Aww, I miss TPJC sia. And all the teachers there.

Then I was so happily talking to him that I didn't see where I was walking. I tripped on the staircase, almost kissed the hard, concrete ground, if not for Pris and Sabby who were walking behind me and grabbed my bag to stop my fall. Thanks guys! =)

And now, I have a tremendous headache. And I still have Vectors and Chemical Kinetics tutorials to complete. Mind-boggling and baffling topics. Really. And my head really hurts. =(

A little apprehensive, a wave of nostalgia, and a new beginning...

I unlocked the door and stepped into the house. Immediately, tiny little red arrows taped onto the white tiled floor caught my eye. Intrigued, I followed the arrows, until I came to a fork; one arrow leading to the kitchen, and one up the stairs. Deciding that the kitchen was nearer, so I followed the arrows into the kitchen. It stopped in front of the fridge, so I pulled open the fridge door. And sitting there was a bag of Godiva chocolates. After fingering it for a moment, I closed the fridge door and followed the other trial of arrows upstairs. It lead to my bedroom. Seated neatly atop my blankets were two wrapped gifts. Meanwhile, the soft piano tunes of Somewhere In Time floated up the stairs. It was one of my favourite songs.

If you were wondering who did that, wonder no more. It was CL. Hahahaha. But you see, I had to spoil his entire masterplan cos I lost my keys home (which I later borrowed from my sis). And he won't quit grumbling about it. Heh... But not much was spoilt la hor? He just followed me around as I collected my presents. Lol.

Thanks for all the presents and card! XD Never again will there be another day like today, where I turned 17 on the 17th of the 7th month of the year. Hahaha!

Ah, what a lazy day. I've finished the Key Trilogy by Nora Roberts. Very very lovely. I started writing Chapter 7 of Mademoiselle this afternoon, completed it and posted it up already. People, you know the drill. Review!! XD Haha, alright, I'm just kidding. Read and review it if you want to. Then upon completing Chapter 7 of my story, I went for a dip in the pool to clear my head. It was swarming. I think I stared at the computer screen for too long.

Alas, the fun has ended and I ought to be starting my revision on Chemical Bonding soon for the test on Monday. Oh, bugger. What a lovely birthday present - Chemical Bonding Test. Ugh.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen! Okay, I'm a little high today... cos... it's a... FRIDAY!! And I absolutely love Fridays as it ushers in the weekends! Oh, lovely lovely lovely. And I'm on the last book of the exciting Key Trilogy by Nora Roberts. Hmm, nothing beats having completed all your work and curling up in bed with a good old novel. Ah, the epitome of life, to me now at least.

Okay, I died in school today. My eyelids couldn't seem to defy gravity, and I was zoning out during Math and Biology lectures.

Anyway, today, the Meridian Tuition Outreach Programme (MTOP) started. My mentee is this P5 student from Park View Primary School, called Amsyar. Unfortunately, he was absent today and hence, I took up another mentee whose mentor was absent today. Cute little boy called Doran. Spent a good portion of time talking to him. Quite interesting arh. Then I let him do this Grammer and Vocab English worksheet, which I later marked and blah. Then we did Fractions together and compared answers, after which I taught him how to divide a fraction by a fraction. And he finally got it at the 4th time. Phew. Sometimes, kids really have a short attention span and they don't concentrate enough. Lol. But yeah, it was really fun and they're rather cute.
Heh, looking forward to the next session.

I wonder when The Lake House is coming out. I sooo wanna watch it. And does anyone have the song "Give My Love"? It's absolutely bone melting!! *grins moronically* Alright, I'm gonna return to my novel now. Ciao people! =D

I can't believe I'm still up and around after all I've been through. Okay, I made it sound a little worse than it really is. But I am really really really exhausted. I had 4 and a half hours of sleep last night and less than 6 hours of sleep for the past few days. I'm amazed I didn't fall asleep in class today nor even came close to doing so. All in the name of studies, homework, projects and assignments.

In fact, I actually played tennis this morning for PE. Which probably explains why my arm muscles are screaming their protests and making their presence felt right now. And apparantly, I got tagged. Yet again.

Today is my A'level Chinese Oral Exam. As I sat by my lonesome self in the examination hall, first the line, because I didn't belong to the class taking today. I changed my exam date cos I have a performance on that day. So I stoned in my seat, staring at the ground, at my hands, folded on my lap.

We were to have two examiners, one had already arrived, sitting at the designated tables at the other end of the hall. She looked really stern, thick glasses and all. I was feeling a bit intimidated. After sometime, I heard someone behind me talking about the other examiner, who had just arrived. My head snapped up and LO AND BEHOLD! There sat my chinese tutor who had taught me in first three months. Had I possess any ounce less of self-control, I would have leaped off my seat, screamed and jump around. Then he saw me.

And his mouth fell open. HAHAHA!! I burst out laughing on the spot, with my hand over my mouth in a half attempt to stifle my giggles. Yes, I could actually see his jaw drop open waaaaay from across the hall. It was most hilarious sight. Then he mumbled a bit. I could see his mouth moving, but of couse, I can't hear what he said. Anyway, the exam was quite alright. He smiled at me before I left the hall and we waved. He most certainly hadn't forgotten me. I miss my first three months! Haha. And the company of muah chee, wenqi and gang.

Sigh, alright, back to chionging my homework now. Cya!

YAYNESS!!

The Mid-Year Exams are OVER!! OVER OVER OVER!! Yeah! On Thursday (our last paper), Doris, Sabby, Pris, Kia Ming and I went out to celebrate Doris's belated birthday. We had a Fondue at Haagen Dazs, which was really lovely but a little painful on our wallets. Then we took neoprints (which I haven't taken since sec 2) and walked around, window-shopping.

This weekend is absolutely the most heavenly weekend I've ever experienced since like the beginning of actual JC life. No exams, no homework, no tests! I mapled for like 4 hours yesterday and went shopping for a friend's belated birthday present. Of course, happiness is transient, no? Beginning of next wednesday, the full-fledged horror of our results will come haunting us. Ouch.

Alright, I'll be going back to my novel now! Ciao people!
